SPC Helps GHM! Launch

SPC has recently participated in the launch of a new discount chain to retail parks and town centres across the UK. Guess How Much! (under its trading name of GHM!) opened its first two stores in Hinckley and the Isle of Sheppey in June, closely followed by Kilner Way, Sheffield in July and Walkden, Manchester, at the beginning of August.

GHM! has chosen NCR as its hardware platform, sourced from SPC (an NCR Premier Solution Partner), and based on the tried and tested RealPOS 25 touchscreen terminal.

Steve Gardner, Head of IT at GHM!, has taken a best of breed approach to the overall solution delivery allowing each supplier to focus on their strengths. “We chose NCR because it has a proven track record as a leading provider of POS hardware in retail markets both in the UK and globally”.

Steve added, “SPC has supported our store opening process, thanks to their partner status with NCR and their ability to deliver solutions on time”.

GHM!, will appeal to the price conscious shopper who is looking for favourite brands at prices they love, across store cupboard essentials, household items and a full range of Pep & Co clothing for the whole family.

A typical store configuration comprises 3 checkout lanes and 2 express tills for the shopper with 10 or less items. The checkouts also include a flip top cash drawer from German manufacturer Anker, also supplied by SPC; 2D presentation scanner to allow customers to redeem vouchers on their smart phones; and the 7198 NCR printer that will offer flexibility with messaging on the receipts via its double-sided printing function.

GHM! is planning new openings in Doncaster and Cardiff, and has further expansion plans with more  stores planned for 2017.
