SPC Supports Eday Community Store

SPC has just supplied two NCR RealPOS 7878 scanner/scales into its most northerly customer site in the UK to date. The new Community Store on the island of Eday, part of the Orkneys, has been set up with support from the Eday Partnership, and funded by the National Lottery, in order to provide a much needed resource for the island community. The EPOS system for the new store was provided by local IT company Orktech, who developed their own EPOS application and selected the NCR Bioptic scanner/scale as providing the maximum combination of high performance and reliability – an important consideration in such a remote location. Neil Hearn, the MD of Orktech comments: “The new shop is open and the scanner/scales work perfectly. They have been up and running, continuously, for 1 month now. They have not crashed, faltered or glitched in any way. What a perfect set of devices you have provided me with.”
